Suggested Prayer Team Guidelines for the One Voice Prayer Room Strategy

  • Read through the Statement of Faith, Suggested Prayer Team Guidelines, and Terms of Use.
  • Meeting weekly encourages consistency and persevering commitment. Decide and agree on a time that suits everyone, and commit to it. Write it down. Begin and end on time in consideration of everyone involved. Declaration of God’s Word is integral to your prayer hour.
  • Familiarize yourself with the FACTS Scripture Guide to maximize your prayer hour.
  • Instead of discussing the needs, allow the Holy Spirit to guide your prayers concerning needs you know, needs highlighted by the Facilitator.
  • Be sensitive to hold in confidence the prayers and concerns shared.
  • It is recommended that each team have a Facilitator In Training (FIT), so that the prayer team can continue even in the absence, or move, of the original team facilitator.
  • Lobbying, protesting or pressuring in social or political causes, regardless of how worthy the cause is not endorsed by Cultivate Prayer. The One Voice Prayer Room participants are as individuals, and not under the banner of Cultivate Prayer, One Voice Prayer Room, or any other Organization.
  • Because the One Voice Prayer Room welcomes denominations, cultures and generations (ages 18 and up), and since approaches to prayer will vary among teams and their members. Let love grace, truth and accountability guide you. Our goal is to pray in agreement and be unified by the Spirit. God’s Word is the best guide!
  • Team members must be aware that their call and commitment to prayer will be tested and distracted. The enemy uses disunity as one of those tactics. Therefore “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3, NIV).
  • It is a privilege to pray and should be regarded as such.
  • Plan ahead how to deal with distractions so your One Hour of Prayer can remain focused and uninterrupted.
  • “Don’t tell God how big your storm is, tell your storm how big God is.” (Author Unknown)
