FACTS May 27 – June 2/12

FOCUS

Proverbs 2:1-5, NIV: My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

ADORATION

Proverbs 2:6-8, NIV: For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.

CONFESSION

James 3:13-16, NIV: Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

THANKSGIVING

James 3:17-18, NIV: But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

SUPPLICATION

Proverbs 2:9-11, NIV: Then you will understand what is right and just and fair every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

  1. This is a wonderful way to fluifll the need to read a steady diet of God’s Word. It allows you to read selected Psalms and Proverbs once every day. It is nicely broken up so that you can turn back and read it over and over without feeling you are missing any part of devotional and yet is not so much that you cannot read and enjoy His Word with only a few minutes a day.
